For most people, their living space must reflect their frame of mind. Whereas some prefer to make the home a place where they can find comfort and succor, others prefer to make the home a mansion to impress their friends and neighbors. Marble floor tile has always been a strong ally of those people.
Although marble tiles are one of the most expensive materials, some judicious use can create some rather impressive results. One quick word of warning: Do not mix decors or the effect will not only be lost, but you will create some combinations that just don’t work well together. An obvious example is the combination of marble tile flooring and cedar; although rosewood paneling and marble tiles works, marble and cedar usually doesn’t. The tile and paneling should work together, offering just enough contrast to make things interesting to those in its area.
With that in mind, a do-it-yourselfer can do well, especially when used in conjunction with some of the home design software that’s out there. By using that software while consulting with a home decorating expert, the home can be made into great piece of art as well as a sanctuary from any outside storms.
Obviously, a person using marble tile flooring wants more than just a sanctuary; they want something that will intimidate from the moment someone enters the foyer. Paintings will take the place of photographs, sculptures will be in view, and the fixtures will at least be of polished brass. The point will be to impress, and the designer will do his best in that regard. After all: What is the point in buying marble tile flooring if you’re not going to use it to effect?
